An Interview with Kylie Hibinski
Shes a beautiful girl of many talents. And she uses one of her talents to draw some pieces for W.H.A.L.E! And we are hoping with these pieces they will raise awareness! She has an amazing drawing style, and to my surprise, she can pretty much draw anything she puts her heart and mind to!
Q- what urged you to take on this project?
A-well I'm always trying to take my experience with art to the next level and I want to get myself out there and known as an artist but I didn't want to just use my work on anything or anyone. I wanted to do something special with it, something that could help out somewhere. So when I heard of W.H.A.L.E I knew this was where I could use my hard work and talent and use it for a GOOD reason, not just for me
Q- people love art, and art have many meanings, what are you hoping people will get out of seeing your beautiful pieces?
A- I really hope people will look at my work and see that something astray. I like to use weird and strange looks and ironic images in my work and I try to put across a message in each one of my pictures.
Q- what do you like to do for fun?
A-For fun I love to watch movies and go out to eat with my amazing family and my loving boyfriend
Q- whats your favorite sea animal and why?
A- I think my favorite sea animal would have to be a sea horse. They are so interesting and they're shapes and movements are just beautiful!
Q- how important is it for kids to learn about animals and what's happening in our ocean?
A-it is VERY important for kids to know what's going on in the ocean. There is a sense of authority in children even if most people don't believe it. When a small child speaks out about something that even THEY know is wrong, people listen. Children have a voice and it's a powerful one.

ENDANGERED ANIMALS THAT SOME PEOPLE STILL EAT!
I was shocked, disgusted and astonished on what I read today. If these animals disappear, then it will keep going on and on til the next animal is gone, and the next one after that. And sometimes I think to myself, if the animals are slowly disappearing, who's next?
They will keep going down the food chain!
Here's a list on some of the endangered animals that people are eating....
1- chinese giant salamander
2- chimps/gorillas
3- chinook salmon
4- bluefin tuna
5- caribou
6- fin whales
7- african elephants
8- green sea turtles
9- river dolphins
10- gaurs/seladangs
11- sharks
Questions ? Want to learn more? Please email us at whale.project@yahoo.com or visit www.facebook.com/W.H.A.L.Eofficial

The Brutal Truth
This is the brutal truth...whaling, shark finning, seal slaughter and sea turtle extinction. By raising awareness, people will have a better respect for these amazing animals and spread the word on whats happening in our ocean. Stand for something.

Featured Friend: PENGUINS!
Penguins are birds with a funny waddle, they cant fly but can swim up to 15mph! They cant breathe underwater but they are good at holding their breath. When its cold, as much as 5,000 penguins huddle up tight and keep warm. And just like whales, they have a layer of fat called blubber.
Penguins in danger:
seals, Orcas and even humans are the penguins predator. Pollution in the water and oil spills destroys the habitat of penguins. Global warming raises the temperature of the water and reduces the amount of krill in the oceans.
Joke:
whats black and white, and black and white, and black and white, and black and white?
A penguin rolling down the hill!

Winners of SET THE EXAMPLE contest
Congrats to our winners Jessica Zepeda and Fatima Lopez for entering the SET THE EXAMPLE CONTEST!
We had a contest running for a week, and anyone who wanted to enter had to take pictures of them cleaning up and picking up trash or write why it is important to have a clean ocean! And we had Jessica Zepeda take pictures of her cleaning up and Fatima Lopez write why its important to have a clean ocean! So they will receive awesome W.H.A.L.E gifts in the mail!
Here's Fatimas summary on why its important to have a clean ocean.
Having a clean ocean not only benefits all the sea creatures that live in it but it also benefits us in so many different ways. For instance we as a society obtain from our ocean a range of various food products to even cosmetics. Now knowing that we are bound to eat products that have come from the ocean like fish and so on, we as a society need to keep in mind how important it is to maintain our ocean clean of trash and other chemicals that pollute our ocean. We as a society need to be more proactive in keeping our oceans clean because the bottom line is we cant afford to lose the many beautiful creatures that inhabit the ocean, but we also need to take care of the ocean for ourselves because we also use some of the materials that the ocean has to offer. None the less we all love the ocean even from the smallest microorganism to the biggest whale even to us humans, so lets keep or oceans clean because even if we don't think so the ocean plays a role in our daily lives.
